Well done to all the pupils and staff on the wonderful Christmas Carol Service held in a packed Church on 11th December. The story was dramatized by the children who will receive their First Holy Communion in 2019 and they gave a wonderful performance. Every pupil in the school participated and they and their teachers can be very proud of their hard work. Thank you to all who donated and to the Parents Council members who guarded the bucket in the Church porch for us!

5 November 2018: Bring happiness with Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
Traditionally in Ireland, many children receive presents from their Grandparents, Godparents, Aunts, Uncles, etc. In many countries families are too poor to give presents to their relations. Imagine the smiling face of a young boy or girl in Africa or Eastern Europe as he/she receives a Christmas box filled with small gifts and treats? Last year we all donated 154 boxes for the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.

Please support this very worthwhile initiative again this year and bring happiness to poor children at Christmas. Have a look on for ideas on what to include and what not to include. Boxes need to be returned before 12 November. Please enclose €4 with each box.

  • Unfortunately, headlice can always be a problem in school. Please check your child's hair weekly and if your child has headlice please inform us so we can urge all families to check hair.
  • Pupils who wear astro-turf runners to school are asked to bring a change of footwear as these runners bring in a huge amount of dirt and carpets are being ruined. A box will be provided to store shoes. Any light shoes/runners will be suitable for classroom wear.

4 September 2018: 10 Weeks of swimming lessons starting
Due to the large numbers of pupils on roll, we have organized two swimming sessions in Graiguecullen Pool this year. As the pool is heavily booked from year to year, we have had to accept random dates and times for the second session. We decided to go with Graiguecullen Pool for these sessions as they teach the PAWS Programme and children receive certification. It is essential that two parents are available to travel each swimming day as assistance is required and we also need two adults in each dressing room. Parents need to be Garda vetted – forms are available in the office. Swimming will be cancelled if we don’t have two parents on any particular day. We depend on your generosity to volunteer to assist with the swimming each week.
